Corporate banking
Open a corporate bank account
A UAE company without a bank account cannot do much, and this is the step founders underestimate most. Here is what really happens, what the bank is looking for, and where our job ends.
What we can promise, and what we cannot
Opening a corporate account is the bank’s call, not ours. What we do is build your file to the standard banks expect and introduce you to the ones most likely to want your business. Anyone who promises you an account is selling you something they cannot deliver.
Where our job ends and the bank’s begins
Half of this is ours and half of it is not. Worth knowing which half is which before you start.
A three-stage vertical flow. The first stage, labelled "what we prepare", contains four items: business profile, source of funds, bank selection and introduction. It leads into a second stage drawn with a dashed border and labelled "what the bank does — not ours to control or accelerate", covering compliance review, verification, risk appetite and the final decision. That leads to the last box: the bank’s decision.
UAE bank compliance rules have tightened a lot. In practice that means a relationship manager who likes you still cannot open your account. Your file goes to a compliance team that never meets you and decides on the paperwork alone. Our job is making sure that paperwork is complete, consistent and easy to believe.
How it actually goes
- 01
We check your documents
We go through what you have against what banks ask for, and tell you what is missing before it costs you a rejection.
2–3 days
- 02
We build your file
We write the business profile and the source-of-funds story properly. This is what decides most applications, and it is the part most people rush.
3–7 days
- 03
We pick the right banks
We match your activity, your structure and the countries you trade with to banks that actually want that business. Then we make the introduction.
2–5 days
- 04
You meet the bank
They will ask more questions than you expect. The file then goes to the bank’s compliance team, which we do not control and cannot speed up.
2–6 weeks, depending on the bank
- 05
The account opens, or we regroup
If it is approved, you are open. If not, we find out why where the bank will tell us, fix what we can, and go to a bank with a different appetite.
Varies

Most banks want to meet at least one signatory face to face. We book the appointment and tell you exactly what they will ask.
What banks are really checking
Not your licence. The story behind it, and whether it holds together.
Is the business real?
Are there actual customers behind this, or is it a licence hunting for a bank account?
Do you fit the business?
Does your background match the activity? A consultant with fifteen years in the field reads very differently from someone with none.
Where is the money from?
Where your starting capital comes from, with proof. Expect this to get looked at harder than anything else in the file.
Who do you trade with?
Which countries your customers and suppliers sit in. Banks weigh this as heavily as they weigh the activity.
Does the story match?
Whether your licence, your business plan, your website and what you say in the meeting all describe the same company.
If a bank says no
It happens, and it is not a judgement on you. We find out why where the bank will tell us, fix what can be fixed, and go to a bank with a different appetite. What does not work is applying everywhere at once. Banks notice, and you burn the strongest version of your file for nothing.
What your bank file needs
UAE banks judge you on the file you hand them. This is what a strong one holds. None of it guarantees an account — that decision is the bank’s.

What this list is
Every bank sets its own rules and appetite, and both change. A good file makes your application read far better. It does not decide the outcome, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Questions we get asked most
No — and be careful with anyone who says they can. The bank makes that call under its own compliance rules. What we do is build your file to the standard banks expect and introduce you to the ones whose appetite matches your business.
Usually two to six weeks once a complete file goes in, but it swings a lot by bank and by how simple your structure is. Files with overseas corporate shareholders, or activities banks treat as higher risk, take longer.
Whether the business is real and whether the story holds together. Who is behind the company, whether your background fits the activity, where the money comes from, and which countries you will trade with. A vague business description is the single most common reason an application stalls.
Almost always. Most banks want to meet at least one authorised signatory. We book the appointment and tell you what to bring and what they will ask.
It happens, and it is not the end of it. We ask what drove the decision where the bank will tell us, fix what can be fixed, and go to a bank with a different appetite. One rejection does not rule you out elsewhere.
